Early College
What is Early College?
The Early College High School Model is a program that allows students to take college-level courses and earn college credit while still in high school.
Holbrook Middle-High School has partnered with Quincy College to provide our students a Concurrent Enrollment Program for Senior Capstone, Environmental Science Honors, Statistics Honors, and Line Color and Design. The purpose of the Concurrent Enrollment Program is to provide early college opportunities to HMHS students in which our students earn college credit for classes completed at HMHS. Preference for enrollment and college credit to the Line, Color and Design course will be given to seniors. Students must earn a grade of 73 or better to earn college credit.
In conjunction with Quincy College, Holbrook Middle-High School has an established Early College Program. For the 2026-2027 school year, students in Grades 10 and 11 are encouraged to express their interest in participating in the program as part of the course selection process in Spring 2026. Students will utilize MyCAP to develop a specific Early College Plan that allows them to develop a strategy that will help to find success both during and after high school. Through this program, students earn both high school and college credit at no cost to the student or their families. Courses are taught by Holbrook Middle-High School teachers with syllabi aligned to comparable courses at Quincy College.
All students who participate in a designated early college course will be enrolled in a section of Early College Seminar. Early College Seminar will prepare high school students for the rigors of college-level coursework by fostering academic, social-emotional, and executive function skills. These courses, linked through our partnership with Quincy College, will support students in the early college pathway by providing tutoring, career exploration, and study strategies to ensure success in college level classes.
