Absences and Illnesses
GUIDELINES FOR KEEPING YOUR CHILD HOME SICK FROM SCHOOL
Your student should stay home from school for any of the reasons listed below:
- Fever of 100.0 or greater
- Before returning to school, your child must be fever free for 24 hours without the use of medication.
- Vomiting, nausea, diarrhea
- Difficulty breathing or shortness of breath
- Persistent cough that interferes with your child or their classmate’s learning
- Eye drainage
- Contagious illnesses requiring antibiotics:
- Children prescribed antibiotics for a contagious illness are required to stay home from school for the first 24 hours of antibiotic treatment (Examples: Strep Throat, Conjunctivitis, Impetigo)
